Super Bowl 50 Will Play To A Half-filled Levi’s Stadium

SANTA CLARA, California (The Adobo Chronicles) – Ask any Francisco or Santa Clara resident and they can’t tell you which teams are playing at next Sunday’s Super Bowl 50.  Certainly not the 49ers, that much they can tell you.

We know, of course, that Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara will be hosting the championship game between the Carolina Panthers and Denver Broncos.  But ticket sales are not going well.  In fact, they’re dismal. As of today, only half of the 68,500 stadium seats have been sold.

But the city of San Francisco stands to benefit from this year’s NFL championship game.  It has established a Super Bowl City by the waterfront at the Embarcadero.  It opened today and will continue until game day on February 7.  Already, San Francisco is predicting that it will earn more revenue than the Levi’s stadium.

And we can see why.

The average ticket price for a Levi’s stadium seat is $3,500.

Access to Super Bowl City is a mere $35, and that includes a front row-seat to the game and the half-time show via a super gigantic screen, concerts, vendor hospitality tents, food booths, fireworks, a scenic view of the San Francisco Bay and the Bay Bridge.  What else can one ask for?  If one can afford to spend $3,500, he or she can even have a penthouse suite at the Hyatt Embarcadero and have a private Super Bowl party while still having access to Super Bowl City 17 floors down.

What a deal! San Francisco sure know how to party.

SANTA CLARA, California (The Adobo Chronicles) – The countdown has begun for Super Bowl 50 which will be held at the Levi’s Stadium on Sunday, February 7.

Preparations are at fever-pitch — in San Francisco!

No, that wasn’t a typo.

Yes, the Levi’s Stadium is located in the City of Santa Clara, but The City by the Bay is hugging all the spotlight for this monumental sports event.

San Francisco is holding its own Super Bowl.  In fact, it has transformed a wide patch of the city into what it calls “Super Bowl City.” There will be concerts, game viewing, street parties, vendor extravaganza, and what have you.

This has prompted the City of Santa Clara to file a law suit in district court seeking damages to the tune of hundreds of millions of dollars for lost revenue and media attention.

Santa Clara City Manager Julio Fuentes told The Adobo Chronicles that San Francisco was malicious in stealing the limelight from Santa Clara and that it has robbed the city government as well as local businesses of potential revenue expected from the influx of football fans.

“I’ve encountered many people who thought that the 50th edition of the game was being held in San Francisco,” Fuentes said, adding that “it is only fair that San Francisco Mayor Ed Lee and his cohorts be made to pay for their misdeed. This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for the City of Santa Clara, and San Francisco robbed us of the glory.”

MOVE OVER MANNY PACQUIAO, HERE COMES THE TRUE FIGHT OF THE CENTURY

The true 'Fight of the Century'
The true ‘Fight of the Century’

MANILA, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles) – For millions of Filipinos disappointed over the supposed ‘Fight of the Century’ between countryman Manny Pacquiao and American Floyd Mayweather, there is light at the end of the tunnel. The real boxing match of the century is in the offing.

In the north corner: former Interior Secretary Mar Roxas. In the south corner: Davao City Mayor Rodrigo Duterte. Presidential candidates both.

It all started with a word war between the presidential hopefuls, with Roxas saying that a peaceful Davao City under Duterte was a myth, and the mayor saying that Roxas’ degree from Wharton School of Business (at University of Pennsylvania) was a myth.

Duterte then said that he wanted to slap Roxas for insulting the people of Davao, to which Roxas replied:  “Sa dami ng problema na hinaharap ng ating bansa, ikaw nauuwi ka sa kung ano-anong mga kalokohan. Gawin mo nalang kung ano gusto mo gawin. Sampalan? Bakit pa sampalan pambabae yan. Suntukan nalang.” (Of all the problems our country is facing, you only think about ridiculous things. Do what you will. A slapping match? Why a slapping match, it’s for women. How about a fistfight.)

And so the boxing match is set. Both camps are finalizing negotiations with the venue at the Philippine Arena.

President NoyNoy Aquino has already agreed to be the official referee.

The fight will be aired live on CNN Philippines and will be available for viewing around the world via Pay-Per-View.
