The Stage Is Set: Manong JP Enrile Vs. Kuryente King Mark Anthony Lopez

The stage is set for the most unexpected duel of the century—101-year-old political immortal Juan Ponce Enrile versus 56-year-old DDS blogger and reigning “Kuryente King,” Mark Anthony Lopez. On one side, we have Enrile, a man who has outlived dictators, coups, and possibly even his own historical revisions. On the other, Lopez, an internet warrior who has perfected the art of self-inflicted credibility damage.

The burning question? Whether Enrile staged his own ambush in 1972. A question so old it predates half the panelists on Toni Talks. Enrile, whose memory is allegedly sharper than ever, is ready to defend his legacy. Meanwhile, Lopez, fresh from his latest fact-check fiasco, is armed with memes, half-baked theories, and possibly a Globe load promo.

Will history be rewritten, or will this be another episode of “Boomers vs. Bloggers”? Either way, expect fireworks—probably from Enrile’s hearing aid short-circuiting mid-debate.

Kuryente King Takes On Enrile!

Lopez in Duterte green

In the latest episode of “As the Legal World Turns,” blogger Mark Anthony Lopez, affectionately dubbed the “Kuryente King,” is reportedly drafting a petition to the Supreme Court. His mission? To prevent a one-on-one debate with the indomitable 101-year-old Juan Ponce Enrile, who wishes to refute Lopez’s claims about a staged ambush leading to Martial Law.

Lopez, never one to shy away from the courtroom spotlight, previously joined forces with fellow DDS bloggers to seek a certiorari from the high court, aiming to dodge Congress’s invitations to discuss fake news. Evidently, facing legislators is more daunting than facing libel charges, as Lopez is also among the plaintiffs in a cyber libel case against Congressman Ace Barbers.

One might argue that the justice system is alive and kicking, given Lopez’s litigious escapades. Yet, his circle continues to hurl critiques at the current administration, perhaps mistaking the courtroom for a stage and themselves for the main act. In this legal theater, the lines between plaintiff and performer blur, leaving us all wondering: who’s really holding the script?

Will Kuryente King Mark Anthony Lopez RSVP To Enrile?

At 101 years old, Juan Ponce Enrile is proving that not even time itself can erase his memory—or his fighting spirit. The former Martial Law architect has challenged blogger and self-proclaimed “Kuryente King” Mark Lopez to a face-to-face showdown over claims that Enrile staged his own ambush in 1972.

Lopez, known for debating anyone with WiFi, has yet to RSVP. Perhaps he’s weighing the risks of arguing with a man who has outlived multiple administrations, coups, and possibly even some historical facts.

Will Lopez take the bait and engage in the ultimate history lesson, or will he suddenly remember an important errand that day? Either way, we might need a fact-checker—and possibly an exorcist—to get to the bottom of this one.
