MANILA, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Manila Bureau) – As if the series of persona non grata declarations from Local Government Units, and law suits from religious groups were not enough, the Philippines’ Department of Justice (DOJ) has filed a separate criminal case against drag artist Pura Luka Vega.
It all stemmed from Vega’s video taped performance where he dressed like Jesus Christ and sang to a rock version of “Ama Namin” (The Lord’s Prayer).
DOJ told The Adobo Chronicles that Vega is being charged as a drag lord and accused for other unbailable offenses.
LAOAG, Ilocos Norte (The Adobo Chronicles, Laoag Bureau) – Drag artist Pura Luka Vega may have over a dozen declarations of persona non grata to his name, but Los Angeles-based vlogger Bb. Maharlika has more than four times as much.
The Marcos’ bailiwick is called solid north for nothing. Ilocos Sur comprises 32 municipalities and 2 component cities, while Ilocos Norte has 21 municipalities and 2 component cities.
On Friday, all city and municipal councils of Ilocos simultaneously approved resolutions declaring Maharlika persona non grata.The resolutions condemned the vlogger’s story-telling lies regarding the Marcoses, especially First Lady Liza Araneta Marcos.
“We have no tolerance for her sour-graping ang gossiping,” the Ilocanos said, “just because she was not given a plantilla position in the Marcos administration.”
PASIG CITY, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Pasig City Bureau) – The newly-erected “The Victor” in Pasig City, said to be taller than the Statue of Liberty, is actually a statue of the late former Senator Ninoy Aquino.
The final artwork was unveiled on the eve of Ninoy Aquino Day which commemorates his assassination 40 years ago.
Ninoy’s image, however, is only visible through a special magnifier lens camera similar to one owned by The Adobo Chronicles’ Jake Don.
