TRUMP: ‘WE CAN’T AFFORD TO HAVE TWO BLACK PRESIDENTS IN A ROW’

Trump vs. Carson
Trump vs. Carson

DES MOINES, Iowa (The Adobo Chronicles® ) – Nothing will stop Donald Trump’s desperate quest to become the next president of the United States — not Hillary Clinton, not the Mexicans, not the Chinese, not Fox News’ Megyn Kelly, not Jorge Ramos, not CNN. Not even fellow Republican candidate Ben Carson.

Latest numbers coming out of Iowa now show the real estate mogul losing ground, with Carson coming within five percentage points to Trump’s lead (18% to 25%) in one poll and in a statistical dead heat (23% to 23%) in another.

So, as expected, Trump turned his rhetoric on Carson.

“If we truly want this nation to be great again, we cannot afford to have two black presidents in a row, referring to Barack Obama and Carson. “image

The Adobo Chronicles®  caught up with Carson in Des Moines and sought his reaction to Trump’s statement.

Carson simply smiled and said, “I am a neurosurgeon and it doesn’t take much for me to recognize and diagnose a nut case!”

Case closed.

ASIAN AND HISPANIC JOURNALISTS DECRY MEDIA USE OF ‘ANCHOR BABY’

SAN FRANCISCO, California (The Adobo Chronicles® ) – Two of the national minority journalism organizations have issued advisories urging the media to refrain from using the term, ‘anchor baby,’ which commonly refers to a child born in the U.S. to non-citizen parents.

The Asian American Journalists Association  (AAJA) and the National Association of Hispanic Journalists (NAHJ) both called the term offensive and derogatory especially to the immigrant communities.

Republican presidential candidates have been focusing on illegal immigration in the campaign trail, calling for the building of great  walls along the U.S. border with Mexico and Canada, urging the Department of Homeland Security to deport all of the estimated 11 Million undocumented immigrants now in the country, and proposing an end to birthright citizenship as we know it.

The journalism groups suggested the use of alternative terms and labels, including ‘birth tourism,” and ‘babies born in the U.S. to non-citizen parents (or undocumented immigrants).

Additonally, AAJA proposed the use of ‘Anchor Bobby’ instead of ‘anchor baby.’

‘Bobby’ of course is Republican presidential candidate and Louisiana Governor Bobby (Piyush) Jindal, who was born in Baton Rouge in 1971, to an Indian mother.  At the time of birth, Jindal’s mom was a non-U.S. citizen which technically qualifies the governor to be called anchor baby … we mean Anchor Bobby.
