MANILA, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Manila Bureau) – Kakie Pangilinan thought she was defending Leni Robredo from personal and “misogynistic” attacks from President Rodrigo Duterte, but the Vice President didn’t see it that way.
In one of her tweets, Pangilinan, daughter of actress Sharon Cuneta and Senator Kiko Pangilinan, she said that if the President can be a rapist, she wondered why the Vice President can’t have a boyfriend.
Robredo, who maintains that she’s not into any affair, accused Pangilinan of spreading fake news. “If you think you’re helping me, you are absolutely wrong. You are practically accusing me of having a boyfriend,” Robredo said, obviously referring to Pangilinan.
Meanwhile, many DDS (Die-hard Duterte Supporters) are calling on the President to file libel charges against Pangilinan for labeling him a “rapist.”
MANILA, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Manila Bureau) – Move over, Otso Diretso. Here comes Siete Palabras!
Today, the Liberal Party formally announced its line-up for the 2022 Senatorial elections, fielding seven candidates, one less than the last elections’ eight who were all flushed into an embarrassing zero win.
The LP also revealed the magic seven’s new, improved campaign tag — Siete Palabras — which it hopes would appeal to the country’s Roman Catholics (Siete Palabras refers to Jesus Christ’s Seven Last Words prior to His crucifixion.)
Pro-Duterte netizens quickly criticized the campaign tag, saying that it aptly characterizes the seven candidates who are “all talk.”
The magic seven are ABS-CBN actress Angel Locsin, VP daughter Aika Robredo, convict and Rappler CEO Maria Ressa, actress Vilma Santos, blogger Francis Baraan IV, blogger Jover Laurio and Sharon Cuneta’s daughter Kakie Pangilinan.
