Direk Darryl Reveals: Juana Change To Play The Modern Imelda in MaM!

MANILA, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Manila Bureau) – She’s played the role of Imelda Marcos before, albeit in a satirical and critical setting, at rallies organized by the political opposition. And she has caught the attention of film director Darryl Yap.

Today, Yap revealed in a hastily-called press conference that he has chosen Mae Panel (a.k.a. Juana change) to play the role of the modern Imelda in the upcoming film “Mabuhay Aloha Mabuhay” (MaM) to be released in the fall.

“She’s a good actress,” Yap told The Adobo Chronicles, and she can definitely do justice to this challenging role. “Don’t worry about her looks, make-up can do wonders,” Yap added.

The controversial director also said that hiring Paner is like extending an olive branch to the Dilawan and Kakampinks, adding that they sure will appreciate watching one of their very own in a Marcos flick.

Brosas told The Adobo Chronicles that she will file a bill to abolish the partylist system on Friday.

What a heroic compromise for Gabriela? Mabuhay to all jeepney drivers!

Joel Lamangan, Vince Tañada To Co-Direct New Marcos Film!

MANILA, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Manila Bureau) – The reviews are in, and both anti-Marcos films, “Ako Si Ninoy” and “Oras De Peligro” are being described by critics as mediocre. Box office receipts for the flicks by Vince Tañada and Joel Lamangan, respectively, are equally very disappointing.

But when at first you don’t succeed, try and try again. And do it in tandem.

Today, Tañada and Lamangan jointly announced that they will co-direct a new upcoming film on the Marcos Martial Law, based on the book by self-appointed investigative journalist and social media Marites, Raissa Robles, “Marcos Martial Law: Never Again.”

The new venture us being seen as the greatest and most factual full-length feature film ever on the Marcoses.
