Drama: Senator Risa Hontiveros Contradicts Herself!

MANILA, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Manila Bureau) – In an exchange of barbs, Philippine Senator Risa Hontiveros proclaimed she is not into “drama,” just work.

Hontiveros was reacting to Vice President Sara Duterte’s statement that the senator has a flair for theatrics as displayed during the senate budget hearing for the Office of the Vice President.

But then, just hours later, Hontiveros used her social media account to post a dramatic meme asking the question, “Pero bakit parang kasalanan ko pa?” (Why does it appear that it’s my fault?)

Contradictions 1.0, or Theatrics 2.0 ?

AC Poll: Should September 11 Be A Permanent Philippine National Holiday?

MANILA, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Manila Bureau)- Republic Act No. 2956, signed into law in 2004, declares August 21 of every year as “Ninoy Aquino Day.” It is a non-working NATIONAL holiday.

September 11 marks the birth anniversary of the late Ferdinand E. Marcos. This year, his son President Bongbong Marcos declared it as a non-working holiday in ILOCOS NORTE.

The Adobo Chronicles is conducting a poll among its Filipino and Filipino American readers on the question:

Should September 11 be permanently declared a national non-working holiday, and August 21 be instead designated as a non-working holiday ONLY in Tarlac province, hometown of Aquino?

Yes, or No? Let us know in the comment section

Mass Reporting Boomerangs, Netizens Get Red-Tagged!

MANILA, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Manila Bureau) – First, it was motivational speaker Rendon Labador, now it’s Darryl Yap, director of the Marcos film, “Maid In Malacañang” who is being targeted for mass reporting by fanatics of ex-Vice President Leni Robredo,

Now that Labador’s TikTok, Facebook, Google and Twitter accounts have been taken down, a netizen group calling itself Leni2025 is asking its members to mass-report Yap and all his pro-Marcos film projects. It even has adopted an OPLAN (Operations Plan) called “Mass Report 3 times a day.”

But alas, the OPLAN has backfired. IT experts at the Department of Information and Communications Technology have hacked Facebook and other social media portals and have successfully re-directed all the mass reports to its central database.

DICT told The Adobo Chronicles that the database is shared with the National Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict (NTF-ELCAC) which then automatically red-tags the mass reporters.

We have talked with some of the mass reporters who said that they have been terminated by their employees and denied travel authority and foreign visas because of the red-tagging.

Moral of the story: always be prepared to face the consequences of your idiotic actions, including mass reporting!
