Is A Pink Slip On The Horizon For Anti-Poverty Czar Larry Gadon?

Larry Gadon, once a lawyer and now the Marcos administration’s illustrious Anti-poverty Czar, seems to have missed the memo on his job description. From pushing for charter changes to opining on election dynamics, Gadon’s antics have been nothing short of a spectacle.

His bold declaration that Philippine poverty is a mere hallucination would be amusing if it weren’t so detached from reality. Recently, he opined that in a hypothetical presidential race, VP Sara Duterte wouldn’t capture the hearts of Marcos Loyalists and Ilocanos, thus ensuring his continued tour-de-force in political clairvoyance.

Gadon’s grand finale came with a Supreme Court verdict of gross misconduct, a fitting addition to his illustrious resume. One must wonder if President Bongbong Marcos, ever patient, might finally consider bestowing Gadon with the ultimate honor: a well-deserved pink slip. After all, even the most loyal jesters eventually wear out their welcome.

Fact Check: No, Flights To Tacloban Are Not Being Cancelled Due To Maisug Rally (video)

Claims by some pro-Duterte supporters suggesting that flights are being canceled due to the Maisug Prayer Rally in Tacloban City are misleading.

In reality, the disruptions stem from planned maintenance work at the Tacloban Airport, which has been publicly announced as early as April. Airlines and passengers were advised well in advance about limited airport hours to accommodate these essential repairs. The advisory clearly states that these adjustments will persist from May 2 to  August 2, not just for the duration of the rally, as the DDSheets claim.

Therefore, attributing the flight cancellations solely to the rally overlooks the broader context of ongoing airport improvements necessary for ensuring passenger safety and infrastructure reliability.
