Why So Silent Over 17 Billion Pesos?

Ah, the sweet symphony of selective outrage in the Philippine political arena!

While the melodious cacophony of condemnation echoed endlessly over the P2 billion in confidential funds of Vice President and Education Secretary Sara Duterte, the grand opera of silence envelops the staggering P17 billion contract awarded to a South Korean firm for counting machines and election paraphernalia for the 2025 national and local lolls. It’s as if the deafening silence was orchestrated to drown out any discordant notes of scrutiny.

One might assume that the citizens, ever vigilant in their quest for transparency and accountability, would be up in arms over such a gargantuan contract, especially given its pivotal role in the integrity of the democratic process. Yet, alas, the chorus of criticism — especially among aspiring politicians who will eventually be proclaimed winners — or sore losers — by these technological wonders.

Perhaps, in this tragic comedy of errors, political expediency has deafened even the most vocal of critics. For in the intricate dance of power and patronage, one must tread lightly, lest the music of democracy be drowned out by the whispers of compromise and concession.

The Appointed Son Of God Now A Living Dead!

In Pastor Apollo Quiboloy’s recent public audio statement, he vehemently addressed a myriad of allegations against him, notably the summons to appear before the Senate committee hearing. Accusing President Bongbong Marcos and the First Lady of endorsing the charges against him added a political dimension to his defense. Quiboloy staunchly defended his broadcast network and his friendship with the Dutertes, while he decried foreign interference in Filipino affairs.

His admission of being in hiding, claiming to be “dead” albeit a “living dead,” underscores the intensity of the situation.

However, conspicuously absent from his discourse were the charges filed against him by the U.S. government, branding him a “wanted” individual. This omission leaves a critical gap in his narrative, raising questions about transparency and accountability. Quiboloy’s selective silence on this matter may fuel further speculation and skepticism regarding his legal entanglements and their potential implications.

Pastor Apollo Quiboloy: TNT!

In a shocking twist of events, Pastor Apollo Quiboloy has officially joined the ranks of undocumented Filipinos dubbing himself a “TNT” or Tago Ng Tago.

In his latest 36-minute audio message to followers, Quiboloy revealed his newfound status, alongside other outlandish claims, including his own demise and aspirations to lead the Philippines.

Quiboloy’s apparent reliance on Maharlika, the queen of fake news, for information, raises eyebrows. His paranoia about facing “rendition” instead of extradition, orchestrated by none other than President Bongbong Marcos and the First Lady, seems straight out of a farcical political thriller.

With Quiboloy’s penchant for grandiose proclamations, one can’t help but wonder if this latest announcement is just another performance in his repertoire of theatrics.

Perhaps the only thing more elusive than Quiboloy’s credibility is the truth behind his fantastical claims. As the saga unfolds, one thing remains certain: reality continues to outpace satire in the realm of Quiboloy’s world, including his claim of being the “appointed son of God.”
