U.S. Navy: A Photo Op Gone Awry?

(Adobo Chronicles senior geopolitical correspondent BRIAN NEYRA contributed to this report.)

Leave it to the observant eyes of Filipino netizens. They spot details like a thread going through a needle. Such is the case with a U.S. Navy photo posted online. It was an impressive shot of a Navy officer firing a rifle from on board a U.S. vessel.

But something seems to have gone wrong. The (tele)scope of the rifle seemed to have been mounted backwards with the lens still covered with a cap.

Unless, of course, this was a new model that was being fire-tested.

Marcos Walks His Talk; Maharlika And Ilks, Well…

In a shocking turn of events, President Bongbong Marcos has defied the norms of Philippine politics by actually walking his talk.

While other government figures and vloggers thrive on a diet of lies and baseless claims, Marcos has taken a radical approach: honesty. His recent statements regarding Chinese aggression in the South China Sea were not only refreshing but backed by evidence. To the dismay of his detractors, he even managed to rally support from major international players like the U.S., Japan, and Australia.

Meanwhile, amidst the sea of misinformation propagated by the likes of Maharlika, Chong, Chu, Roque, Cruz-Angeles, Lopez, and Sasot, the DDSheets continue to chase ghosts, eagerly discussing non-existent videos as if they were the holy grail of truth.

It seems President Marcos has stumbled upon a novel concept in politics: telling the truth and actually doing something about it. Who knew such a radical notion could take hold in the Philippines?
