Philippine Coast Guard Clarifies Minimum Height Requirement For Band Members

MANILA, Philippines (The Adobo Chroniclers, Manila Bureau) – There’s nothing unusual about the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG)recruiting for singers and musicians to join its ranks. Hey, the police and the Armed Forces have their own bands and choral groups.

But PCG was criticized for its recruitment ad for including a minimum requirement of 5 feet and 2 inches among applicants.

In response, PCG told The Adobo Chroniclers, that the requirement is not in any way discriminatory to the height-challenged. Rather, “we need to make sure that our singers and musicians reach the high notes,” a Coast Guard spokesperson said.

Senator Risa Hontiveros To U.S. Embassy: Release Names Of Clerics Who Erred In NAIA Military Plane Landing

MANILA, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Manila Bureau) – Shortly after the Senate Committee on Foreign Relations issued a press release on the results of its inquiry into the landing of a U.S. military plane in NAIA, Senator Risa Hontiveros issued her own statement.

In the press release, Senator Imee Marcos said that the U.S. Embassy had admitted “clerical error” in the failure to obtain proper documentation for the landing.

Hontiveros demanded that the U.S. Embassy name the clerics who committed the error. “The Philippines expects full transparency from the U.S. if it wants to continue our good relations, especially in the light of the Enhanced Defense Cooperation Agreement, or EDCA,” Hontiveros told The Adobo Chronicles.

NAIA Landing Of US Military Plane A Clerical Error!

MANILA, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Manila Bureau) – In a press release issued by Senate Foreign Relations Committee Chair Imee Marcos, she said that the U.S. Embassy in Manila has admitted that the questionable landing of a U.S. military plane at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) recently was due to a “clerical error.”

The U.S. Embassy, however, declined to name the clerics involved in the error, or what religious denomination they belong to.
