MANILA, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Manila Bureau) – The Philippine Star has apologized to PCOO Undersecretary Lorraine Badoy for calling her “spokesman” in its story about NTF-ELCAC’s call that the elected lawmakers under the Makabayan bloc be removed from office.
Along with its apology, PhilStar issued an erratum and replaced the photo originally used in its story.
MANILA, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Manila Bureau) – Rappler is reporting that Manila Police have assaulted a traffic enforcer while arresting a 26-year-old woman last Thursday in Malate, Manila.
The Rappler story did not indicate what the woman was being arrested for, or what the condition is of the assaulted traffic enforcer.
QUEZON CITY, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Quezon City Bureau)- GMA-7 News is reporting that a new, more transmissible Covid-19variant has been discovered in San Juan City, Metro Manila.
The new variant has been named Francis Zamora, in honor of San Juan’s city mayor.
A GMA News reporter reporting live in San Juan was seen walking away from the scene seconds after news host Arnold Clavio confirmed the discovery. It was for fear of being exposed to the new variant.
At the same time co-host Susan Enriquez was also seen live on the set, covering her mouth because she wasn’t wearing a face mask.
