Andanar Taps Maria Ressa To Head PCOO’s Communications Training Center In Bukidnon

TACLOBAN CITY, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles. Tacloban Bureau) – Communications Secretary Martin Andanar said the national government will build its first strategic communications training center to capacitate state information officers on effective public and media relations.

The Department of Finance and Department of Budget recently approved the PHP100 million proposed budget of the Presidential Communications Operations Office (PCOO) to build the facility in Manolo Fortich, Bukidnon.

In an exclusive interview with The Adobo Chronicles,  Andanar revealed that he was tapping Maria Ressa to head the training center, acknowledging that the Rappler CEO is a much better communicator than he is or any of his Undersecretaries and Assistant Secretaries.

Ressa has reportedly agreed to take on the new job because her online news business is about to go bankrupt. She is also hoping that by taking on a government position, she will be spared of further prosecution in connection with criminal charges filed against her — from tax evasion to cyber libel.

Assistant Secretary Lorraine M. Badoy is not happy about Ressa’s potential appontment, mostly because of professional jealousy.

Maria Ressa Sues VP Leni Robredo For Plagiarism

MANILA Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Manila Bureau) – It’s a line that Rappler CEO Maria Ressa has repeated many times: “A lie repeated a thousand times becomes the truth.”

Now, Ressa is suing Philippine Vice President Leno Robredo for plagiarism.

The lawsuit stems from a video interview with Robredo — conducted by Ressa herself —where the Vice President said that lies repeated many times become the truth.

That didn’t sit well with Ressa because she says Robredo stole that line from her.

Meanwhile, the estate of Nazi Propagandist Joseph Goebbels is also suing Ressa for plagiarism.  Apparently, the line about  lies being repeated becoming the truth originated from Goebbels.

Duterte To Replace PCOO’s Martin Andanar With Kris Aquino

MANILA, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Manila Bureau) – All it took was one Instagram post for Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte to immediately decide to replace Secretary Martin Andanar of the Presidential Communications Operations Office (PCOO).

The incoming Secretary?  None other than Queen of All Media (and sister of ex-President NoyNoy) Kris Aquino.

In a post folloiwng Duterte’s Fourth State of the Nation Address (SONA), Aquino expressed her admiration for the President whom she described as authentic and worth emulating.

Presidential Spokesperson Salvador Panelo said Aquino has done more than PCOO in promoting the President’s programs and policies as well as in combating gross misinformation in the international media than Andanar and his highly-paid team.

Panelo said that Kris is the most qualified to head the PCOO because of her all-around media expertise. “She’s not called ‘Queen of All Media’ for nothing,” he added.
