New DOH Branding: “We Employ The Not-So-Best”

MANILA, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Manila Bureau) – With one sweeping public pronouncement, the newly-appointed Health Secretary under the Marcos, Jr. administration created a new branding, patterned after the now infamous “We Give the World Our Best.”

Secretary Ted Herbosa said that government hospitals will be employing those who failed to pass the Nursing Licensure Examinations, thus creating a new DOH mantra of “We Employ the Not-so-best.”

Herbosa, however, did not give details on the DOH plan. Critics are asking: “Will they actually be employed as nurses, or as orderlies — those who clean up patients, hospital rooms and equipment.

The DOH announcement sent chills to Filipinos, creating an atmosphere of distrust about possibly being taken care of by unlicensed nurses at government hospitals.

The Call Center Association of the Philippines also criticized the move as it shrinks their potential sources of call center agents.

‘Celebrity’ Vloggers Among Flunkers in the March 2023 Civil Service Exams!

MANILA, Philippines (The Adobo Chroniclers, Manila Bureau) – Given their loud noise about all things government in the Philippines, ‘celebrity’ vloggers were expected to be in the Top 10 passers of the March 2023 Civil Service Exams — the ticket to the juiciest positions in the current Administration. Well, at least be among the pathetic number of those who successfully hurdled the much-pursued government service eligibility.

A total of 64,420 out of 403,567 (15.96%)successfully hurdled the March 2023 CSE-PPT – 54,478 passed the Professional Level while 9,942 passed the subprofessional level exams.

But alas, the vloggers who had aspired to be appointed to influential Administration plantilla positions, all but flunked, among them Bb. Maharlika, Pinoy Ako Blog (Jover Laurio), Raissa Robles, Ping Ping Tweets (whatever her real name is), Rappler’s JC Punongbayan, Rambo Talambong, Pia Rañada and Lian Buan, the returning Jam Magno, and many others.

Meanwhile, The Adobo Chronicles is proud to announce that among the Top 10 passers were AC’s senior geopolitics correspondent Brian Neyra, and Social Media Director Jake Don.

Our publisher, Rene Astudillo, graphics director Orman Manansala, and all-around, everywhere correspondent Melchor Vergara, are already Civil Service eligible.

Bus Modernization Program Launched By DOTr!

MANILA, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Manila Bureau) – Department of Transportation (DOTr) Secretary Jaime Bautista may be considered the weakest link in the administration of President Bongbong Marcos, but he has bright ideas that have not been thought of by his predecessors.

Yesterday, Bautista unveiled his plan to finally rid EDSA of the nightmarish traffic that has haunted Metro Manila’s main thoroughfare for decades.

He is proposing to replace all city buses with double deckers, similar to those used in Hong Kong and many Western countries.

“The problem with EDSA is that there are too many buses plying the route,” Bautista said. “Cut the number in half and it will dramatically ease the traffic problem.”

DOTr has yet to make public details of the plan and what to do with the replaced buses. Perhaps sell the junk to Australia?

The government has already started implementing a public utility modernization program, replacing old and dilapidated traditional jeepneys with minibus-like, air-conditioned units.
