Leni Robredo Petitions Supreme Court For Compromise On Vice Presidency

MANILA, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Manila Bureau) – Leni Robredo has proposed to the Supreme Court, sitting as the Presidential Electoral Tribunl (PET), a compromise that would finally resolve the Vice Presidential protest filed by former Senator Bongbong Marcos.

In an urgent petition filed with PET, Robredo said she was willing to split the Vice Presidency with Marcos. (Earlier, Marcos again asked the  High Court to proceed with his motion to nullify votes in 3 Mindanao provinces where he alleges widespread cheating happened.)

Robredo proposed that she be declared Vice President for Luzon (except the Ilocos Region) and Marcos be declared Vice President for Mindanao.  As far as the Visayas is concerned, she suggsted a toss coin between her and Marcos  to determine who will be declared VP.

In speaking with The Adobo Chronicles, Robredo’s spokesperson said the VP’s proposal is similar to the set up at many government and private sector companies where they have separate Vice Presidents for Finance, Operations, Human Resources, etc.

The Marcos camp has not yet commented on Robredo’s proposal.

Leni Robredo Wants Her Own Vice Presidential Plane And Helicopter

QUEZON CITY, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Quezon City Bureau) – The President of the United States has his own plane (Air Force One) and helicopter (Marine One).  The American VP has  his own Air Force Two.

The Philippine President does have his designated Presidential plane and helicopters as well.  But not the Vice President whose only function, as always pointed out by Leni Robredo, is “to wait for something to happen to the President.”

But Robredo wants to change that.  She wants her own VP plane and helicopter.

The VP made the statement after she was criticized for her office’s slow response to humanitrian aid needed by those affected by the Taal Volcano eruption.

Filipinos in Batangas and nearby provinces were crying “Where is Leni?”

Earlier, Robredo said she was on her way to hand checks to Taal eruption victims, but she just couldn’t find a bus that would take her from her VP residence in Quezon City to Batangas. She said she’s been waiting and waiting and waiting.

So today, Robredo demanded that her office be provided with a Vice Presidential plane and helicopter so that she can be more effective in responding to natural disasters that befall upon the Filipino people.

For her VP plane, Robredo says she prefers a Boeing 737 Max, the type of plane that has figured in recent fatal crashes which nobody on her staff told her about.

Leni Robredo Says She Too Wants To Be Financially Independent

QUEZON CITY, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Quezon City Bureau) – Philippines’ Vice President Leni Robredo told The Adobo Chronicles today that like Great Britain’s Royal Couple Harry and Meghan, she too wants to be “financially independent.”

Robredo was reacting to the shocking news that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have decided to “step back” from their Royal duties and receive no funding from the Monarchy.

Asked how exactly she’d go about it, Robredo said she will voluntarily abdicate the half a million-peso budget of the Office of the President and return it to the national coffers. “I think it is not fair to the Filipino taxpayers that I’m spending their hard-earned money for doing nothing to help them and our country,” she said.

While the VP says she will continue her pet projects like “Angat Buhay,” she will rely on private donations from the country’s top Oligarchs as well as foreign sources.

Already, Robredo’s announcement has received praise from both sides of the aisle — the Yellowtards and the die-hard Duterte supporters.
