Netizens: Bring Back The Chow In ChowKing!

In a backfiring case of corporate crisis (mis)management, ChowKing recently issued a public statement addressing an out-of-store order-taking practice at one of its branches.

However, what was meant to be a damage control masterpiece ended up resembling a fast-food Shakespearean tragedy.

The statement inadvertently shifted the public’s focus from the location blunder to the real heart of the matter: ChowKing’s questionable culinary offerings. Netizens, armed with keyboards and a hunger for justice, took the opportunity to dissect the fast-food giant’s menu with surgical precision.

Unreasonable prices? Check. Portions that make a thumb-sized appetizer seem like a feast? Double check. Rancid chicken? A triple check. And let’s not forget the oily pancit canton, which could rival an oil spill in its environmental impact.

It appears that ChowKing underestimated the power of the internet’s food critics, who care more about what they’re served than where they order it.

Perhaps next time, the company should focus on enhancing its recipes rather than crafting statements that unintentionally turn them into the laughing stock of the online foodie community.

Baguio City’s Newest Tourism Spot Is a Restaurant!

Move over, Michelin stars, because Baguio City’s hottest dining destination is here to steal the limelight.

Good Taste, the city’s long-time culinary marvel, has become the go-to spot for locals and tourists alike.

Forget about fancy French cuisine and microscopic portions – Good Taste has mastered the art of serving up delicious dishes in quantities that could feed a small army.

This gastronomic haven has redefined the meaning of “affordable dining.” Who needs a Michelin-rated restaurant when you can indulge in hearty meals without needing a second mortgage?

Good Taste’s menu is a masterpiece of comfort food, where every dish is a triumph of taste over pretentiousness. From mountain-sized servings of buttered chicken and fresh vegetables to towering stacks of pancit and cripy pata, the only stars you’ll be counting here are the ones on TripAdvisor. And did we already mention that the restaurant couldn’t cope with the volume of customers it had to employ robotic food servers?

So, why settle for a Michelin star when you can have a plate full of satisfaction at Good Taste? It’s the culinary revolution and tourist spot Baguio never knew it needed – because sometimes, good taste is all you need to conquer the food world and the tourism industry.

Unli Rice Vs. Half-Cup Rice

In a stroke of legislative genius, the Department of Agriculture is pushing for a bill that would require food establishments to offer half-cups of rice. Because nothing says “effective policy” like a throwback to the glorious era of rice rationing during the late, great Marcos administration.

Forget tackling the root of the issue, the Department of Agriculture has identified but ignores the real threat to the nation: unlimited rice servings enticing Pinoys into restaurants. Apparently, they’ve missed the memo that not everyone wants to carb-load like they’re training for a marathon.

While some Pinoys diligently watch their glycemic index, the real heroes are the establishments encouraging rice binges. Why focus on the potential for obesity and diabetes when there’s the urgent matter of ensuring everyone gets just the right amount of rice, no more, no less?

It’s comforting to know that in the grand hierarchy of national concerns, the rice cup size is a top priority. Because who needs sensible solutions when you can legislate rice portion control?
