MANILA, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Manila Bureau) -Vice President Sara Duterte has had it with film maker Darryl Yap’s meddling in purely government affairs, especially goings-on in the presidential palace, Malacañang.
“We have enough trolls, gossip-mongers and purveyors of fake news, we don’t need a film director joining in the fray,” Duterte said.
In calling Yap a “tambaloslos,” the VP advised Yap to stick to what he does best — film making.
(“Tambaloslos” is mythical creature with a large mouth and penis found in Visayan, Bicolano and Mindanao folklore. The creature is believed to confuse and misguide people, making them lose their way or go around in circles.)

Our Adobo Chronicles entertainment reporters in Hollywood have confirmed that Ressa has been signed up for the lead role of an upcoming feature film.
The new flick is a sequel to “Liar Liar,” a 1997 American legal comedy film directed by Tom Shadyac and written by Paul Guay and Stephen Mazur. It stars Jim Carrey as a lawyer who built his entire career on lying but finds himself cursed to speak only the truth for a single day, during which he struggles to maintain his career and to reconcile with his ex-wife and son whom he alienated with his pathological lying.
“Liar Liar 2” is about the true-to-life story of a pathological lying journalist who makes it from war correspondent to CEO of a news portal to Nobel lauriat (as in ChowKing).
The producers thought the role is best portrayed by Ressa herself, as acting will come very naturally.
