Pia Wurtzbach, Catriona Gray Reenact Miss Universe Crowning Moment!

HONG KONG, China (The Adobo Chronicles, Hong Kong Bureau) – Beauty queens can never let go of that crowning moment when they were proclaimed the most beautiful in the world. Or the universe.

In a rare public appearance together, former Miss Universes Pia Wurtzbach (2015) and Catrion Gray (2018) posed for fans and the news media to reminisce their respective queenly reign.

Wurtzbach crowned Gray, but critics said it should have been the other way around. Many will recall that before Wurtzbach was crowned, Miss Colombia was declared the new Miss Universe because of an error in the announcement. They said it would have been more symbolic and accurate if Gray crowned Wurtzbach in the reenactment.

Nevertheless, the whole photo op was a sham because only Gray was there in person. It turns out Wurtzbach was a mere wax figure.

It all happened at the Madam Tussauds wax museum in Hong Kong!

Miss Universe Philippines Protests Inclusion of Miss Netherlands In International Beauty Pageant!

MANILA, Philippines (Adobo Chronicles, Manila Bureau) – The Miss Universe Philippines (MUP) Organization has filed a protest against the inclusion of Miss Netherlands in this year’s Miss Universe Pageant.

Rikkie Valerie Kollé has been named Miss Netherlands 2023, becoming the first transgender woman to take the title.

But she will not be the first openly transgender contestant in Miss Universe. Angela Ponce became the pageant’s first out trans contestant when she represented Spain in 2018.

This year’s Miss Universe Philippines Michelle Dee has come out publicly as bisexual, but MUP told The Adobo Chronicles that she is still a biological woman unlike Kollé and Ponce.

MUP is also invoking FOI (Freedom of Information) to demand that the Miss Universe Organization disclose all 2023 Miss Universe contestants’ gender status.

Herlene Budol’s Miss Philippines Tourism Title Is Not Branded, Says Pageant Organizer

MANILA, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Manila Bureau) – In a statement posted on its social media accounts, ALV Pageant Circle clarified that the title given to the comedienne-host Herlene Budol was a “generic title with no contractual obligation to any international pageant,” hence it was not a confirmation of Budol’s participation in the Miss Tourism World pageant.

In other words, much like drugs sold at pharmacies, you can choose between “branded” or “generic.”
