MANILA, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles – Manila Bureau) – Self-proclaimed investigative writer Raissa Robles couldn’t contain her envy when she criticized a high-end fashion show by calling it a “vulgar display of ostentation and scandalous wealth amid poverty. Featured designer for the show was Michael Leyva.
Bless his heart, Leyva took the criticism in stride. But more than that, he is organizing another show he is calling “Fashion Show for the Poor.” All proceeds will be donated to Leni Robredo’s Angat Buhay Foundation.
And to show that he has no ill feelings towards Robles, Leyva has tapped her to be one of the ramp models in this unique show featuring an all-nature collection of gowns and dresses using only plant material.

MANILA, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Manila Bureau) – The Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) has vowed to resist any efforts to forcefully remove the BRP Sierra Madre from Ayungin Shoal in the disputed territory of the South China Sea.
AFP said it will equip Sierra Madre and all vessels of the Philippine Coast Guard as well as all Air Force planes and helicopters with high-powered sling shots manufactured in the country.
“We will not be intimidated by the Chinese Coast Guard’s use of water cannons like it used to drive away a PCG resupply boat last week,” an AFP spokesperson told The Adobo Chronicles.
