NEW CASTLE, Delaware (The Adobo Chronicles, Delaware Bureau) – Touching wires in tramways is a no-no, as it could cause electrocution. Nothing could be more clear than the huge notice put up by the Newcastle Tramway Authority.
The NTA warns the riding public that touching wires could cause instant death. It goes further to say that violators will be fined $200.
Well, a man ignored the sign, touched the wires and was instantly electrocuted and killed. So who pays the fine now?
The NTA has filed a lawsuit demanding that the $200 plus daily interest be paid by the next of kin of the decreased man.
Moral of the story: The law haunts you even after death.
