SAN FRANCISCO, California (The Adobo Chronicles, San Francisco Bureau) – We’re approaching the summer season when millions of young Americans take temporary jobs during the school break.
Their best bet are always the fast food chains like McDonald’s, BurgerKing, KFC, INnOUT Burgers, and yes, even the Philippines’ Jollibee.
But these summer jobs are being threatened by AI (Artificial Intelligence) which may very well do all the tasks assigned to homo sapiens.
For starters, Wendy’s has announced that it will begin testing an AI-powered chatbot that will talk to customers and take drive-thru orders.
For sure, the other fast food chains won’t be left behind and may also start their own AI customer service.

Already, restaurants use robots in place of human waiters, eliminating the need to recruit additional staff, or enable them to downsize their personnel.
