BAGUIO CITY, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Baguio Bureau) – If there was a Guinness Record for the “Longest Man in Waiting for an ID,” Jake De Leon would win it hands down.

The Baguio City resident said he’s been waiting for his Philippine National ID for 5 years now. Others have been waiting for theirs for a year or two since the National ID law was signed in 2018 by then President Rodrigo Duterte. De Leon’s wait is unprecedented.
The Adobo Chronicles caught up with De Leon while he was shopping at SM Baguio Supermarket and we asked him when the exact date was when he turned in his National ID application.
His reply: “What application?”
