MANILA, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Manila Bureau) – The Philippines’ living ex-Presidents have a lot to thank Senator Bong Go for. The former lady-in-waiting to President Rodrigo Duterte is taking good care of them post their Malacañang residency.
Go has filed a new Senate bill that would grant more fringe benefits to ex-Presidents other than personal bodyguards from the Presidential Security Group (PSG).
Among the benefits proposed by Go are:
- Free hair cut plus manicure and pedicure for life.
- Free monthly full-body massage at any Nuat Thai location.
- Free 50-kilo sack of NFA rice every month.
- 50% discount at all supermarkets.
- Free appetizer and dessert at restaurants nationwide.
- One-year supply of San Mig Light or Fundador, subject to renewal upon presentation of annual medical check-up certificate from St. Luke’s Hospital.
- 24-hour honor guard at Libingan Ng Mga Bayani or their memorial park of their choice.
P.S. The honor guard benefit will also apply to all former Presidents except Ferdinand E. Marcos. Go did not disclose why Marcos was excluded.
