Adobo Chronicles Fact Check: Raissa Robles Is Not A Tausug

In a post on her social media account, self-proclaimed investigative journalist Raissa Robles claimed that she was a Tausug, referring to members of one of the largest  Muslim ethnic groups of the southwestern Philippines as her ”fellow.”

Adobo Chronicles labels her post as FALSE.

Robles is not a member of the Tausug community. She merely committed a grave grammatical error (being a journalist at that) by saying ”fellow Tausugs.”

She was actually directly addressing Representative Shernee Tan-Tambut of the Kusug Tausug Partylist who took offense at her earlier comment that promoting tourism in Mindanao would open up incidents of kidnapping in the region.

She should have said ”your fellow Tausugs.” She also had commas too many in her post.

Raissa Robles Declared Persona Non Grata By BARMM!

JOLO, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Davao City Bureau)- Be careful what you say about your own country, lest you be declared persona non grata.

This was the fate handed to self-proclaimed investigative journalist Raissa Robles by the Bangsamoro Administrative Region for Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) after she practically tagged Mindanao as kidnap capital.

Ressa was commenting on incoming Tourism Secretary Christina Frasco’s plan to promote tourism in the region. Ressa, author of the now moot book on the Marcos Martial Law, said that promoting tourism in Mindanao would increase the prospects of kidnapping.

Representative Shernee Tan-Tambut of the Kusug Tausog Partylist immediately protested Robles’ statement, saying it was tantamount to a mockery of the efforts of the Muslim Mindanao provinces to maintain peace and stability in the region.

Robles responded to Tan-Tambut, saying ”Fellow (sic) Tausugs are still kidnapping…”

A spokesperson for BARMM said that in addition to Robles being banned from setting foot in Mindanao, she should also be deported from the Philippines because of her stance as ”enemy of the state.”

(VIDEO) A Fun Exchange Between Imee Marcos and Karen Davila!

MANILA, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Manila Bureau) – It’s gone viral, this video clip of an interview of Imee Marcos, sister of President-elect Bongbong, by ANC broadcaster Karen Davila.

In the clip, Davila greeted Marcos who replied: ”It’s nice to see you’re still here in the Philippines … akala ko magma-migrate kapag nanalo ang Marcos.” (I thought you’d migrate if Marcos won).

To which Davila replied: ”It’s more fun in Philippines!” (a slogan previously used by the Department of Tourism to promote the country).

All’s well that ends well!
