LONDON, The United Kingdom (The Adobo Chronicles, Paris Bureau) – The Reuters Institute for the Study of Journalism at the University of Oxford has come to the rescue of Rappler.
This, after Reuters released its latest study on media trust showing that Maria Ressa’s online business is the least-trusted news brand in the Philippines.
In a statement issued, Reuters said that their data in the study “should not be treated as a list of the most trusted (news) brands.”
When asked by The Adobo Chronicles for clarification on the statement, Rasmus Nielsen, Director of the Reuters Institute said that since the Philippines’ Securities and Exchange Commission had previously revoked Rappler’s media license, it is no longer considered news media, but rather a vlog.
