Lawyers’ Group Wants To Declare Comelec A Nuisance Poll Body

MANILA, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Manila Bureau) – For its inability to effectively manage the country’s electoral process,, a group of lawyers wants to declare the Philippines’ Commission on Elections (Comelec) a ”nuisance poll body.”

Among the reasons cited by the group for a petition it is filing with the Supreme Court were Comelec’s being wishy-washy in implementing the ban against early campaigning, its continued feet-dragging in the disqualification petitions filed against former Senator Bongbong Marcos, and its inability to pare down Party Lists and to make clear what it considers nuisance candidates.

“That it has failed to weed out obvious nuisance candidates only shows Comelec itself is a nuisance,” the lawyers said.

PH Presidential Race Down To Two!

MANILA, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Manila Bureau) – The survey results are in, and all — from independent and commissioned polls, to news media and street polls — point to one thing and one thing only: the 2022 Philippine presidential race is down to two candidates:

Bongbong Marcos, dad of cutie Sandro Marcos, and Leni Robredo, dumb widow of Jesse Robredo.

Truth be told, Marcos is winning by a majority vote, compared to Robredo’s very distant second. But the Commission on Elections (Comelec) does not have the Constitutional authority to call the elections at this point.
