MANILA, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Manila Bureau) – All the television and video archives that Filipinos have seen regarding the final resting place of Presidents Cory and NoyNoy Aquino are turning out to be fake.
That is, if we believe Senator Ping Lacson’s revelation on this Twitter account.
In his tweet, Lacson said:
So now we know that both Cory and NoyNoy were buried at Luneta Park, the final resting place of our national hero, Dr. Jose Rizal.
MANILA, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Manila Bureau) – Maria Ressa’s Rappler likes to fact-check everything, including legitimate “stories” from satire sites like The Adobo Chronicles. The online news source whose mistrust rating among Filipinos for two consecutive years now is the highest among all local news brands, takes pride in its Internet police hat provided by Facebook.
But Rappler has consistently refused to fact-check a news article that appeared almost a year ago in The Manila Bulletin. The story is about Korina Sanchez’s admission that she dated Venezuelan actor Fernando Carillo and that she does not ask money from husband Mar Roxas.
In an unprecedented exclusive interview with The Adobo Chronicles, Ressa said her decision to ignore the fact check is because it involves two of Rappler’s supporters and idols, Roxas and Sanchez. “We certainly do not want to hurt their feelings,” Ressa added.
The Rappler CEO, who was earlier convicted of cyber libel, emphasized that her freedom of speech also includes her freedom not to speak, especially when it involves matters that are of her personal and political interests.
QUEZON CITY, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Quezon City Bureau) – Vice President and head of the Liberal Party Leni Robredo was quick to throw in the towel in the wake of the passing of former President NoyNoy Aquino.
In a statement to the media today, Robredo admitted that this is the “end of an era,” perhaps referring to the Yellow era that began when Cory Aquino became President.
It was not clear from Robredo’s statement whether she was planning to forget about running for President in the 2022 elections, since she would be the obvious choice of the Yellow parties that include her own Liberal Party and the Opposition coalition, 1Sambayan.
Well, there’s always the governorship of Camarines Sur or Barangay Captain in Naga City where she could run under a new Lugaw Party.
