MENLO PARK, California (The Adobo Chronicles, San Jose Bureau) – Whether you’re posting or reading a post on Facebook, there’s an emoticon for the reaction that you want to convey or elicit. Except when you are being sarcastic.
The lack of a sarcasm emoticon has resulted in a lot of misunderstanding among or, sometimes, embarrassment, for many netizens .
Fret no more.
Starting December 1, Facebook will roll out a new sarcasm emoticon to add to its existing ones that convey approval, love, deep thought, happiness, surprise, sadness and anger.
The new sarcasm emoticon is represented by a clown-like image to convey that a post or response is all “in jest.”
