The ban was a brainchild of the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) supposedly as a solution to the nightmarish traffic on EDSA.
Under the MMDA plan, commuters from the provinces will have to alight at designated terminals in Valenzuela, Bulacan and Santa Rosa, Laguna, then board city buses to get to their final destination in Metro Manila. Provincial bus terminals will also be shut down.
A statement issued by the Office of the Vice President said Robredo couldn’t be more happy with the court order. It greatly benefits the commuting public, including the VP herself who likes to hail her provincial bus to her hometown Naga City along EDSA and under city overpasses.
”It will be very inconvenient for me to have to take a city bus to get to Santa Rosa then catch a provincial bus to Naga,” Robredo said.
