MANILA, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Manila Bureau) – It would have been the highlight of her career as a book author.  Raissa Robles’ book on the Marcos Martial Law, ‘Never Again,’ won the book award for non-fiction.

The award was given out by the National Book Development Board (NBDB).

But alas, NBDB is a government agency, and so it would be a conflict of interest for Robles to accept an award from the government that she criticizes and despises.  Furthermore, the agency is funded by taxpayer money and she constantly questions foreign travels of Duterte officials on taxpayer dime.

So, being the ‘investigative journalist’ that she claims she is, she decided to decline the award.

Well and good!
