MANILA, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Manila Bureau) – Risa Hontiveros today angrily responded to Davao City Mayor Sarah Duterte’s accusation that the senator is “abetting rebellion.”

Duterte’s comments were in reaction to a recent television interview during which Hontiveros said that the Maute terrorist siege on Marawi City does not constitute rebellion or invasion and could therefore not justify the declaration of Martial Law in Mindanao.

In a statement issued to the Yellow press, Hontiveros categorically denied that she was abetting rebellion.

“I don’t gamble, and I do not bet at all,” she said.
