MANILA, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Manila Bureau) – The Supreme Court (SC), acting as Presidential Electoral Tribunal (PET) reset to July 11 the scheduled June 21 preliminary conference on the protest and counter-protest in the 2016 vice-presidential election filed by former Sen. Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. and Vice President Leni Robredo, respectively.
The order by the High Court all but extends the fake term of Robredo by a full 19 days.
Meanwhile, lawyers for Marcos submitted a brief asking the Supreme Court that if it finds that Robredo was not the duly-elected VP, it should extend Marcos’ term by one year plus however many days beyond June 30 the final court decision is handed down.
The Marcos lawyers also argued that their client’s extended VP term should not preclude him from becoming president (and Vice President at the same time) should he decide to run for chief executive in 2022.
It’s the Marcos brilliance at work!
