BREAKING: Leni Robredo Ousted From Liberal Party

IMG_0273MANILA, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Manila Bureau) – Vice President Leni Robredo has been ousted as titular head of her own Liberal Party after she publicly expressed support for President Rodrigo Duterte’s declaration of Martial Law in Mindanao.

The ouster resolution was signed by the top leaders of the party. It happened at around 2pm today while Robredo was reportedly taking a nap at her office in Quezon City.

Signers of the resolution included Chairman Emeritus – Former President Benigno Aquino; Chairman – Senator Franklin Drilon; Vice Chair – Representative Feliciano Belmonte, Jr.; President – Senator Francis Pangilinan; Vice President for Policy -Representative Henedina R. Abad; Treasurer- Governor Alfonso Umali, Jr. (Oriental Mindoro); Secretary-General – Representative Josephine Ramirez-Sato (Occidental Mindoro).

“By supporting Duterte’s declaration of Martial Law, Robredo contradicted the position of the Liberal Party 🎉 .  It makes us stupid and fragmented in the eyes of the Filipino people,” the resolution said. “We cannot continue to keep a balimbing (turncoat) in our ranks.”

Moral of the story: Never take a nap during office hours.
