HOLLYWOOD, California (The Adobo Chronicles, Los Angeles Bureau) – One of the required credentials of being gay is owning a CD and DVD collection of Barbra Streisand’s hit songs and movies, including the classic “A Star Is Born.”
The 1976 film which starred Streisand opposite Kris Kristofferson popularized songs like “Evergreen,” “Watch Closely Now” and “With One More Look At You” which practically launched a Bubba cult among gay men.
So it comes as no surprise that gay men are up in arms over news that Bradley Cooper is producing and directing a remake of the film that would star Lady Gaga.
While many in the gay community are also fans of Lady Gaga, they are absolutely convinced that the music diva won’t do justice to the film and the songs and that only Bubba can do justice to both. They have therefore organized a boycott of the impending film remake if ever it comes into fruition.
Cooper may soon realize that messing with Barbra’s fans is definitely not a good idea. Perhaps he’d be better off doing a remake of “The Wizard of Oz.”
