LAS PIÑAS, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Manila Bureau) – If you’re planning to get drunk while half-naked in the streets of a Philippine city, you’d better be fit enough to do 40 push-ups.

Some 30 men were apprehended by authorities in the city of Las Piñas in Metro Manila for public intoxication, a violation of a long-standing local ordinance.

Upon arrival at the police station, the police chief ordered the men to do 40 push-ups.  Those who completed the task were released while those who didn’t were jailed.

Our advice to drunks and alocoholics, you better shape up and start going to the gym.

Hillary Clinton Wants To Be A Champion Of All Oaklands In The Country

Clinton in Oakland, California

OAKLAND, California (The Adobo Chronicles, San Francisco Bureau) – “I want to be a champion for Oakland and all the other Oaklands in the country.” With these words, Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton put this California city on the U.S. map, big time!

Clinton made this promise during a visit to a local restaurant at Jack London Square in Oakland, California.

Well, it turns out that what Clinton really meant was that she wants to be a champion of Oakland in California and twelve other cities in the U.S. also named Oakland:

Oakland, NJ
Oakland, PA
Oakland, FL
Oakland, TN
Oakland, MS
Oakland, KY
Oakland, MI
Oakland, IA
Oakland, MN
Oakland, IL
Oakland, NE
Oakland, AR

Good for her, but 13 Oaklands alone will not necessarily deliver victory for her in the November general elections, assuming she would be the Democratic nominee for president.

Marcos Family Wants To Purchase Malacañang Palace

BATAC, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Manila Bureau) – Upon learning that Philippine President-elect Rod Duterte plans to transfer the seat of government from Manila to Davao City, the Marcos family submitted a bid to purchase Malacañang, the presidential palace, for an undisclosed amount.

Lawyers of former First Lady Imelda Romualdez Marcos and Senator Bongbong Marcos told  The Adobo Chronicles  that the family would like to return to Malacañang, their official residence for twenty years.

The Marcoses had hoped to return to the palace through Bongbong who ran for the position of vice president in the recently-concluded elections and whose ultimate goal was to become president.  Unfortunately, Bongbong lost the VP contest to Leni
Robredo.

“Rather than let the palace go to waste and be vacant, the Marcoses said the government may just as well convert the massive property into cash to benefit the national treasury,” the lawyers indicated.

The only stipulation in the purchase proposal is that all of the frozen Marcos assets be released by the Philippine government so that the family will have the funds to fully pay in cash.
