BACOLOD CITY, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles® ) – Police investigators looking into the case of a 21-year-old man believed to be high on drugs who allegedly stabbed his live-in partner and his nine-month-old baby in Barangay Rizal, Silay City, Negros Occidental, on Tuesday morning accused the Inquirer of false reporting.
Inquirer’s headline read: “Man ‘high on drugs’ stabs dead partner, baby in Negros Occidental.”
“It is not true that the live-in partner and baby were already dead when the man stabbed them,” investigators said.
“There is huge difference between stabbing dead people and stabbing to death people who were still alive — as far as criminal charges are concerned. We can’t charge a man for murder if the vicims were already dead before he committed the crime,” investigators added.
