Los Angeles, California (The Adobo Chronicles) – It’s game number three between the San Francisco Giants and the Kansas City Royals as they battle to win the 2014 World Series title.  The Giants and Royals are tied 1-1.

In solidarity with their home team, radio stations in San Francisco vowed to ban the Grammy Award-winning song ‘Royals’ from the airwaves for the duration of the World Series.

‘Royals’ won for singer Lorde and song writer Joel Little the Grammy for Song of the Year at the 56th Annual Grammy Awards in Los Angeles last January.

Today, Lorde and Little announced that they were filing a class-action law suit against the San Francisco radio stations for banning their song.

“Our song has nothing to do with the Kansas City baseball team, and neither are we into sports,” Lorde said, “so why are we being punished for something that we have nothing to do with?”

Little told reporters that they are suing for $10 Million which represents potential loss of revenue from the sales and exposure of their award-winning song. “How would Tony Bennett feel if radio stations in Kansas City started banning the song “I left My Heart in San Francisco?’ he asked.

WARNER BROS. WILL FILM A REMAKE OF ‘WIZARD OF OZ’ IF THE SF GIANTS WIN THE WORLD SERIES

imageHollywood, California (The Adobo Chronicles) – Whether or not one is a fan of The Wizard of Oz, the famous line from the 1939 film, ‘Toto, we’re not in Kansas any more’ is all too familiar.

There has never been a remake (other than some adaptations) of the film that made a name for Judy Garland, but now, Warner Bros. has issued  a wager that could bring the most excitement about the 2014 World Series between the San Francisco Giants and the Kansas City Royals. The 7-game baseball  championship starts Tuesday, October 21.

The Hollywood production company has just announced that if the SF Giants win what could be their third World Series title in five years, it will film a remake of The Wizard Of Oz with a major re-write of the script.

The ‘new’ story will begin in San Francisco instead of Kansas, with Dorothy gazing at the giant rainbow flag on Market and Castro, singing the classic ‘Somewhere Over The Rainbow.’ Then a thick San Francisco fog envelopes her which will eventually bring her to Munchkin Country.

Warner Bros. said that a casting call will be held as soon as the World Series is over and that the role of Dorothy will be reserved for a deserving and talented gay man who must be a San Francisco resident, preferrably the Castro.

So start rooting for the SF Giants!

SF GIANTS WANT TO PLAY WORLD SERIES AT LEVI’S STADIUM IN SANTA CLARA

San Francisco, California (The Adobo Chronicles) – The San Francisco Giants are going to the World Series for the third time in the last five years, and their fan base is definitely growing exponentially.

This means that when they host their part of the seven-game World Series against the  Kansas City Royals, the 41,503-capacity AT&T Park may not be big enough to accommodate their die-hard fans.

It is for this reason that the Giants are  now negotiating with the 49ers to use Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara to host the Royals for games 3, 4 and 5 of the World Series,  assuming of course there is a game 5.

The new Levi’s Stadium has a capacity of 68,000 and can easily accommodate Giants fans plus a sprinkling of Royals fans.

The board of directors of the 49ers will meet in an emergency meeting tonight to consider the Giants’ request.
