Even Senator Grace Poe’s Family Won’t Vote For Her

imageMANILA, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Manila Bureau) –  Despite having consistently led in national polls, Philippine presidential candidate Senator Grace Poe faces an uphill battle with many political opponents and detractors, many of whom accuse her of being inexperienced and riding on the coattails of her adopted father, the late actor Fernando Poe, Jr.

Questions about her status as a natural-born Filipino as well as residency have also haunted her campaign to succeed President NoyNoy Aquino who is rumored to be secretly supporting her candidacy over his own anointed one, former Interior Secretary Mar Roxas. (The Supreme Court earlier ruled that Poe is qualified to run for president.)

Now, The Adobo Chronicles has learned that Poe’s own family — husband Neil Llamanzares and their three children Hanna, Nika and Brian — will not even be voting  for her in the May 9 elections. They will be voting for Hillary Clinton. They are, after all, U.S. citizens.

Philippines’ Commission On Elections To Implement Color-Coding Voting In May’s Presidential Elections

MANILA, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Manila Bureau) – While most countries in the world use computer technology in conducting their elections, the Philippines has decided to use color-coding instead.

It is known to many that Filipino politicians, including the five major presidential candidates in this year’s elections, have adopted their official colors which have become symbols of their campaigns.

Yellow (the Aquino color) is for former Interior Secretary Mar Roxas, blue is for incumbent Vice President Jejomar Binay, White and red are for Senators Grace Poe and Miriam Defensor-Santiago, respectively.  As for Davao City Mayor Rodrigo Duterte, he has chosen stripes.

In keeping with this Pinoy political tradition, the Commission on Elections announced today that it will implement a color-coding voting in this year’s elections.

When voters go into the polling booth on May 9, all they need to do is push the button corresponding to the color of their choice for president: yellow, blue, white, red or stripes!

It’s more fun (and colorful) in the Philippines!

imageMANILA, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Manila Bureau) – Previously, The Adobo Chronicles launched a poll on which First Lady or First Gentlemen Filipino voters would like to see in Malacañang, the presidential palace.  Readers can still participate in the poll here.

As a follow up to our first survey, we are also asking voters to let us know which of the presidential sons they would like  to be a Malacañang resident for 6 years starting in June.

So, here it is, folks:  if you vote depended on which son gets to live in the palace, who would you vote for as president?
