Leni Robredo To Senator Risa Hontiveros: “Thanks, but no thanks!”

NAGA CITY, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Naga Bureau) – It was a well-meaning wish for Senator Risa Hontiveros for former Vice President Leni Robredo to run for senator in 2025. That would at least increase the Opposition in the upper chamber to two.

But Robredo knows exactly what she wants and more importantly, what she’s capable of. So instead, she’s running for Kagawad in her local Barangay — Carangcang in Camarines Sur.

And we support her for her noble and patriotic decision!

Terrorist-leaning Gabriela?

Gabriela, the Filipino women’s group, seems to have a unique talent for seeing the world through a truly one-of-a-kind lens.

In their latest declaration, they’ve managed to link their concern for women’s rights to condemning the Philippine government for supporting Israel. It’s as if they’ve cracked the Da Vinci Code of international relations and women’s advocacy.

But let’s not forget the icing on the cake: insinuating that supporting Israel means supporting terrorist groups. That’s like saying if you wear a tinfoil hat, you’re a space explorer. The United States and the European Union have designated Hamas as a terrorist organization for its well-documented history of violence. But Gabriela appears to be channeling some impressive mental gymnastics here.

Perhaps Gabriela has discovered a new form of feminism where supporting women’s rights requires taking complex geopolitical stances without considering the facts. Who knew that advocating for gender equality involved such contortions of logic? It’s a remarkable feat that leaves us all wondering: What will Gabriela’s next magical leap of logic be?

Leni Robredo To Senator Risa Hontiveros: A Big “No!”

In a shocking twist of political ambition, Leni Robredo has made it clear that she’s not interested in Senator Risa Hontiveros’ generous offer to the former vice president to run for senator in 2025.

Robredo, who seems to be playing a real-life game of Snakes and Ladders, declared, “I climb the ladder upwards, not downwards.”

Evidently, Robredo believes she’s on a stairway to heaven, with only the presidency as her final destination.

She graciously offered Hontiveros the consolation prize of being her vice-presidential running mate, which can only be described as the political equivalent of being second fiddle in a one-man band.

One can’t help but admire Robredo’s unwavering commitment to upward mobility, leaving no room for the tedious monotony of Senate life. After all, who needs legislative experience when you’re already on the fast track to the top?

One, however, can only wonder whatever happened to Robredo’s fancy for “bumababa sa baba.”
