Manny Pacquiao Plans To Apply for U.S. Political Asylum

LOS ANGELES, California (The Adobo Chronicles, Los Angeles Bureau) – Minutes after he was “ousted” as president of the ruling Philippine political party PDP-Laban, champion boxer and Senator Manny Pacquiao told The Adobo Chronicles that he has instructed his legal team to file a political asylum application on his behalf in the United States.

Pacquiao is currently in the U.S. for his title fight against Errol Spence, Jr. next month in Las Vegas.

Pacquiao said he is not only humiliated by his party’s action against him, but condemns the fact that things happened while he was out of the country. “It’s practically a coup ,” he said.

The boxer-Senator has previously made known his plan to run for President in 2022, but said that the embarrassment caused by his ouster all but diminishes his chances of winning next year’s Presidential contest.

This is a developing story.

Adobo Chronicles Unveils New Logo

SAN JOSE, California (The Adobo Chronicles, San Jose Headquarters) – After eight years of bringing up-to-date, unbelievable news across continents, The Adobo Chronicles has announced and unveiled a new logo.

The decision for the change comes at a time when the Philippines’ Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) is looking to establish a new national standard for cooking adobo, considered by many as the country’s national dish.

The new logo still retains the original masthead, registered as a trademark with the United States Patent Office. However, a new tagline appears under the masthead that says “The National Standard,” in anticipation of the adobo standard that will be set by DTI. The new logo also bears the “stamp of approval” by DTI, represented by the blue-colored logo of the government agency.
