Her act caught the entire world by surprise and disbelief as a never-before thought of MO (modus operandi) by airport personnel to steal from passengers.
But alas, dollar-swallowing is not a new phenomenon. Others elsewhere in the world have done so with much larger amounts and without the peering eyes of CCTVs.
Sorry, no Guinness world record for the Philippines this time!
MANILA, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Manila Bureau) – As proof that the Philippine Senate has so much time on its hands, Senator Robin Padilla has called on his colleagues to conduct a hearing on the dollar swallowing at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA).
An airport female security guard was recently caught on CCTV swallowing three hundred dollars which she allegedly stole from a departing passenger.
Specifically, Padilla wants to determine whether she actually swallowed the bills and if so, has already excreted the same.
The senator also questioned airport authorities on what makes them believe the amount was three hundred dollars, if the bills have indeed been swallowed.
NINOY AQUINO INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT (The Adobo Chronicles, Manila Bureau) – The Office of Transportation Security (OTS) person who was caught on CCTV swallowing dollar bills allegedly stolen from a departing passenger at NAIA said the video is misleading.
“I was not swallowing dollar bills, but hopia (Chinese flaky pastry),” she told The Adobo Chronicles.
“There was a throng of departing passengers that moment and it was past my break time, so I had to eat a hopia I brought with me for snack,” she added.
Moral of the story: NAIA should install CCTVs with zoom capabilities in order to avoid any false accusations against its personnel or passengers!
