Metro Manila’s Diminishing Car Lanes

As Metro Manila’s thoroughfares shrink in car lanes, it seems owning a private vehicle might soon be as outdated as a fax machine.

The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority’s latest stroke of genius has transformed roads into a jungle gym for buses, bicycles, and motorcycles, leaving car owners pondering whether their four-wheeled investments are destined for the scrap heap. Will car dealers soon file for bankruptcy?

In their grand plan, technocrats could soon introduce the VIP lane, where the privileged few can glide past the masses, sipping their lattes while the plebs sweat it out in traffic purgatory. And let’s not forget the emergency lane, where ambulances, police cars, and fire trucks fight for space amidst the chaos, hoping their sirens can part the sea of two-wheelers.

It’s a spectacle worthy of a circus, where the only thing missing is a ringmaster to announce the next act of absurdity.

Welcome to Manila, where the only thing moving faster than the traffic is the pace of bureaucratic innovation.

Wanted: Motorcycle Skyways In Metro Manila

Ah, the eternal saga of motorcycles in Metro Manila – a tale of chaos, entitlement, and an insatiable appetite for more. They say, “Give them a finger, and they’ll take the entire arm,” and nowhere is this truer than on our metropolis’ main thoroughfares. Motorcyclists, the perennial pests of the road, make every motorist’s commute a nightmare. Courtesy? Ha!They know not the meaning of the word.

Designated motorcycle lanes are but a mere suggestion to these self-proclaimed kings of the road, who weave in and out of traffic with reckless abandon. And let’s not even mention their audacity to occupy lanes meant for cars and buses, as if they own the asphalt beneath their wheels.

Perhaps it’s time we grant their wish for a skyway of their own, where they can soar like wayward pigeons, free from the constraints of traffic laws and common decency. After all, why should the rest of us be burdened by their two-wheeled tyranny?

Senate To Investagate LRT Signage

Ah, the Philippine Senate, that bastion of legislative wisdom, has once again set its sights on the most pressing national issue of our time: the LRT 1 signage controversy.

Forget about economic woes, political instability, or social inequality; what the people truly crave is an investigative hearing on a sign directing commuters to Taft Avenue and the mythical “National Bureau of Investagation.”

One can only imagine the riveting debates that will unfold in the hallowed halls of the Senate chambers. Senators will surely summon experts to dissect the intricacies of signage design and typography, while the nation holds its breath in anticipation of groundbreaking revelations.

Meanwhile, as the Senate gears up for this monumental inquiry, one can’t help but wonder: will this probe finally uncover the truth behind the mysterious misspelling, or will it simply be another theatrical display of legislative grandstanding? Truly, the fate of the nation hangs in the balance.
