F647EC61-DF8D-424A-9DB4-6F7E3F871B4FMANILA, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Manila Bureau) – It must have been a slow news day at Rappler.  Either that or its CEO Maria Ressa was just having a bad hair day.

In a tweet, Rappler asked netizens to submit some bad poems in celebration of Bad Poetry Day. What they got were some brilliant responses — not just from ordinary netizens but famous personalities, including Vice President Leni Robredo, former PNoy spokesperson Edwin Laciera, and popular blogger Mark Lopez.

Here are some of the responses received by Rappler:

Senator Risa Hontiveros Wants October 1 Declared As National Day Of Plastic Surgery

47911E47-4D62-4DB8-A1BC-58036906A3EEMANILA, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Manila Bureau) – Senator Risa Hontiveros is on a roll.  She’s very busy proposing legislation declaring all sorts of “National” Days.

To commemorate the death of 17-year-old Kian Loyd Delos Santos a year ago, Hontiveros wants every 16th of August to be declared as a “National Day of Remembrance.” Delos Santos was killed in anti-illegal drugs operation by Caloocan police.

Now, Hontiveros wants October 1 each year to be declared ‘National Day of Plastic Surgery.’

The Senator told The Adobo Chronicles that her new bill is in honor of Xander Ford, who on October 1 last year made his television appearance with a new look on the program ‘Rated K.’  The former Marlou Arizala who was a member of a boy band was reportedly bullied because of his appearance.

”I cannot emphasize enough the importance of plastic surgery in boosting the confidence of people who were born with not so impressive looks,” she said.
