Battle of the Vlogs: Sass, TP and Cocky Rocky

MANILA, Philippines (Manila Bureau) – While Bb. Maharlika is desperately spreading trashy gossip about the occupants in Malacañang, major vloggers who were once united in defending former President Rodrigo Duterte are now throwing barbs at each other.

It seems social influence in the Philippines has morphed into who is the smartest, the most knowledgeable and the most credentialed among the major vloggers.

Dionne Warwick’s “That’s What Friends Are For” means nothing in the on-going battle of the bulging egos among Thinking Pinoy, Sass Rogando Sasot and Cocky Rocky.

Their respective followers are left on their own to decide on who is right and who is wrong but what’s entertaining is that netizens are not getting the socio-political influence they seek from their Lodis (Idols). It reminds them of the ongoing rift among the noon-time TV shows where personalities, not issues, rule!

Elon Musk Sets Community Violation Allowance For Twitter Accounts!

SAN FRANCISCO, California (The Adobo Chronicles, San Francisco Bureau) – Just hours after Twitter owner Elon Musk posted new, temporary limits on the number of tweets account holders can read per day, he issued new guidelines on community standards violations.

In an earlier tweet, Musk set the tweet reading limits per day for account holders: 6,000 for verified accounts, 600 for unverified accounts and 400 for new unverified accounts.

But Musk also set allowances for community standard violations by account holders, a move that many say is a direct ridicule of Facebook’s community standard policies.

Musk said violators of its community standards will not automatically be banned or suspended. Instead he set some limits on the number of violations an account holder can commit per day, as follows:

  1. Verified accounts – up to 6 violations per day
  2. Unverified accounts – up to 3 violations per day
  3. New unverified accounts – 1 violation per day

As long as account holders abide the the set rules, their accounts will remain in good standing, and will not be put in Twitter jail. Unlike Facebook!

DOT Adds A Comma To The Tourism Slogan “Love The Philippines”

MANILA, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Manila Bureau) – Punctuation matters. A Lot!

The Department of Tourism (DOT) has added a comma to its controversial new slogan, “Love The Philippines.”

The revised slogan is now “Love, The Philippines.”

Tourism Secretary Christian Garcia-Frasco said the revised meme better reflects the intent of the new branding.

“It is a love letter from the Philippines,” she told The Adobo Chronicles.

But it turns out it is a letter from the Philippines to other countries in Asia and the Middle East — a letter of shock and awe at the beautiful tourism sites in these foreign countries, specifically, Thailand, Indonesia and the UAE.

But the revised slogan came only after vlogger Sass Rogando Sasot uncovered that some of the video clips used in the “Love The Philippines” promo were stock videos and worse, were not videos of the Philippines

DOT must have paid a lot of money for licenses to use the stock videos – totaling almost P50 million!
