Dateline Zürich: No Man Is An Island

Officially, the world has 900,000 islands.

Norway has 239,057 islands, including coastal islands.

The Finnish have 178,947 islands.

The Japanese have 120,729 islands. Over 14,125  ofthese have a circumference of 0.1 km. Meaning as big as this: 🔴 – or the red dot in its flag which lookslike this: 🇯🇵

Our neighbour, Indonesia, got 18,110 islands.

In comparison, The Philippines 🇵🇭, my Philippines, has 7,641 islands.  By the way, there are not 100 islands in Pangasinan’s Hundred Islands. There are 124.

My domicile, Switzerland 🇨🇭, is a landlocked  country not usually associated with islands. Believe me, we got 300 of them.

Which reminds me: No man is an Island.

Former Senator Drilon Sues Blogger Krizette Laureta Chu For Cyber Libel

by Melchor Vergara

MANILA, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Manila Bureau) – Senator Franklin Drilon has filed a cyber libel case against blogger Krizette Laureta Chu, claiming her recent post suggesting his reincarnation as House Speaker Martin Romualdez is a grave offense.

Drilon, who has yet to master the art of transcendental existence, insists that one must die before reincarnating—a minor detail overlooked by the relentless blogger.

In response, Chu has vowed to organize a séance to confirm Drilon’s vitality, arguing that his frequent naps could be confused with an otherworldly slumber. As the legal battle unfolds, the nation anxiously awaits the verdict on the senator’s metaphysical status.

Leila de Lima: A Believer Of The Adobo Chronicles

Way back in 2017 when the likes of Rappler, Vera Files and the mainstream media were accusing The Adobo Chronicles as a bearer of “fake news,” then Senator Leila de Lima was already a true believer of our satirical site. And we have proof to back this up.

In a privilege speech before her fellow senators, de Lima rose to lament the proliferation of fake news in the Philippine. In her speech, she gave credit to The Adobo Chronicles and the art of satire, while lambasting others that spread disinformation behind cooked-up sites mimicking legitimate and reputable news sites.

She knew way back then he difference between satire and sarcasm, and “fake news.”

We congratulate her on her release from incarceration!
