Don’t Be Hoaxen!

In the ongoing circus of online absurdities, the latest act sees supposedly rational beings falling for the oldest trick in the digital book. Like sheep led to the slaughter of common sense, they eagerly copy and paste disclaimers, hoping to outsmart the mighty Meta, formerly Facebook. It’s akin to believing that wearing a tinfoil hat can thwart alien mind control. Even a fifth-grader could decipher the folly of this futile gesture.

Meanwhile, as these self-proclaimed guardians of privacy engage in their futile ritual, their personal data dances merrily in the hands of banks, merchants, and governmental entities, pirouetting through the digital ether with grace and impunity. Perhaps it’s high time these digital Don Quixotes tilt at windmills of real consequence, like reading the fine print before clicking “I agree” and awakening to the reality that privacy in the digital age is but a fleeting illusion, lost in a sea of terms and conditions.

Facebook Is Not An Island

In a baffling turn of events, Meta, the juggernaut of social media, suffered a global outage, leaving users stranded in the vast digital desert for nearly an hour. As panic ensued, users frantically tried to log back in, only to be met with the dreaded error messages. However, fear not, for Meta’s director of communications, in a moment of sheer brilliance, decided to reassure the masses… via a humble post on X, formerly known as Twitter. Oh, the irony! Even the mighty Meta had to resort to the platform it once scorned.

Meanwhile, amidst the chaos, Mark Zuckerberg, the titan behind the curtain, found himself stranded in India, of all places. Perhaps a pilgrimage to seek digital enlightenment? One can only speculate. But fear not, fellow netizens, for in this interconnected web of social media, no man is an island. Even the mighty Meta must bow before the fickle gods of technology.

Straight From A Thief’s Mouth!

In the annals of irony, Jay Sonza’s transformation from venerable broadcaster to a highly-paid consultant for Pastor Apollo Quiboloy’s SMNI News is a masterclass in hypocrisy.

Once a voice of reason, Sonza now dances to the tune of the highest bidder, joining the ranks of rumor-mongers and attack dogs targeting the Marcos administration.

His latest tirade, likening a thief in a barong tagalog to those in power demanding honorifics, is a self-awareness black hole.

Forgetting his own brushes with the law, Sonza conveniently overlooks his own past of being charged and arrested for thievery.

It seems in Sonza’s world, hypocrisy knows no bounds, and integrity is but a distant memory.

As he wags his finger at others, he fails to realize that the thief in the mirror bears a striking resemblance to himself.

Oh, how the mighty have fallen, landing squarely in the lap of irony and shame.
