POLL: Sara Duterte Or Risa Hontiveros In 2028?

MANILA, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Manila Bureau) – Time goes by so fast that before you know it, the 2028 Philippine presidential elections will be at hand.

It’s almost a given that Vice President Sara Duterte will be the administration candidate. But who will be the standard bearer for the opposition?

Speculation is that the lone opposition senator, Risa Hontiveros, would be the most logical choice.

Already, Filipinos have seen a fierce exchange of barbs between the two ladies, in the light of the Senate hearing on the budget of the Department of Education of which the VP is Secretary.

In the interest of public service, The Adobo Chronicles is conducting the first-ever 2028 presidential election poll and we ask our readers and followers to participate in this all-important survey.

Drama: Senator Risa Hontiveros Contradicts Herself!

MANILA, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Manila Bureau) – In an exchange of barbs, Philippine Senator Risa Hontiveros proclaimed she is not into “drama,” just work.

Hontiveros was reacting to Vice President Sara Duterte’s statement that the senator has a flair for theatrics as displayed during the senate budget hearing for the Office of the Vice President.

But then, just hours later, Hontiveros used her social media account to post a dramatic meme asking the question, “Pero bakit parang kasalanan ko pa?” (Why does it appear that it’s my fault?)

Contradictions 1.0, or Theatrics 2.0 ?

First-Ever Same-Sex Marriage In The Philippines!

MANILA, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Manila Bureau) – It may be purely symbolic, but the Philippines has finally recorded its first-ever same-sex marriage. And how appropriate that it was between two celebrities – broadcast journalist Atom Araullo and famed lawyer Tony La Viña.

The two exchanged vows at the Quezon City Hall with no less than gay-friendly Mayor Joy Belmonte officiating.

The marriage will surely be challenged all the way up to the Supreme Court, but it could go down in history as the catalyst for the legalization of gay marriage in the Philippines.

As expected, the Roman Catholic Church in the Philippines will join in a class-action suit to invalidate the marriage.
