An Ode To Jay Sonza

In the realm of news, once noble and grand,
A broadcaster rose, with mic in hand.
Jay Sonza, once esteemed, held sway,
Now dances with memes in the gossip’s array.

From solemn reports to scandalous jest,
His journey’s a tale of a journalistic test.
A king of whispers, a lord of hearsay,
His throne built on clicks, day by day.

In the corridors of truth, where integrity reigns,
He’s adorned with the jewels of viral gains.
A million a month for the tales he spins,
A slap to the face of where journalism begins.

Yet, in this age of likes and shares,
Truth’s currency traded for viral affairs.
Oh, Jay Sonza, once beacon of news,
Now crowned with memes, and clicks you choose.

An Ode To The DDS Vloggers

In the realm of vlogs, where truth meets distortion,

Duterte’s disciples spin their tales with no caution.

With blind allegiance, they dance in delight,

As their idol’s antics reach absurd new heights.

They weave their narratives, oh so tight,

Ignoring the contradictions with all their might.

For Duterte can do no wrong in their eyes,

Even when he spreads his web of lies.

From accusing Marcos of sins untold,

To proposing Mindanao’s secession, bold.

They nod in agreement, with fervent applause,

As their hero leads them on with his flawed cause.

How do they sleep at night, you may ask?

With their conscience buried in a flask.

For truth is but a fleeting dream,

In the world of Duterte’s vlogosphere’s gleam.

U.K. Bookstore Pays Tribute To Filipina Fiction Writers!

(This is a follow-up story on our recent post about Maria Ressa’s book. Apparently, Raissa Robles also made it to the prestigious fiction section of a famous bookstore in the United Kingdom)

by Maria Bratikova

As for me Raissa Robles is, and had always been, an
inventigative (sic – Leah) hackette. She does not
seem to care about facts at all.

The human brain can process 11 million bits of
info per second. The conscious brain can only process 40-50 of that
massive number every second. Raissa makes full use of her imaginary processes. She writes fiction. She goes further and presents
her fiction as fact.

Recent memory has Raissa relocating SoKor
in the Far East. A more recent one had her
displaying her ignorance by stating as “fact”
that ONLY females (those humans born with vaginas)
have cervical columns in their anatomy, ergo
the males cannot ever ever contract
cervical cancer (would actually be an excellent
fact were Raissa correct, not oblivious of the realities
of nature!). Take note, her super guapo
husband went on paper to combatively corroborate
his wife‘s abysmal ignorance. Whatta duo!

As far away as the UK, Raissa was relegated
to the fictional department of a book shop (along with Maria Ressa),
implicitly declared as a fictional writer (Mills and
Boon got competetion!).

The plus side of this is. . . you now can discard
this hack as a source of factual & serious information
on any level. That‘s one minus on the barrage of
über-info we‘re getting from social media. You can be
certain that at best her data rest on a quagmire,
on boggy legs.

As for the other wannabe “authors, writers, v/blogers,”
that keep coming at you day in and day out – just employ
your discerning spirits on the ouija board.

God knows about those 11 million bits. . . not all
of them are reliable. And retrieval is a thing!
