The Ever-Imaginative Raissa Robles

Ah, Raissa Robles, the self-proclaimed historian with an imaginary flair for storytelling. Her desperate attempts to salvage her flop of a book on the Marcos Martial Law era are nothing short of comical.

What was meant to be an objective historical account turned out to be a patchwork of her own biases and an unabashed hatred for the First Family. It’s almost as if she majored in “imaginative writing” at the University of the Philippines, not history. Oh, wait, she did!

But Robles’ hopes took a nosedive with the resurgence of Bongbong Marcos. Her “Never Again” premise crumbled faster than her book’s sales. She now pleads for her critics and unsuspecting readers to visit her book at the Bantayog ng mga Bayani, conveniently housed in a museum. Hysterical indeed, as her work belongs more in the realm of fiction than in the annals of history.

Perhaps Filipinos could find better use for her unsold copies – like using them as barbecue grill kindling for holiday cookouts or fuel for a bonfire to keep warm during the cold December nights. After all, why waste precious firewood on a book that’s already gone up in smoke?

Raissa Robles’ Book Burning To Highlight 51st Anniversary Of Marcos Martial Law!

QUEZON CITY, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Quezon City Bureau) – Conceding that her one and only book is now moot and academic, self-proclaimed investigative writer and author Raissa Robles has offered unsold copies of “Marcos Martial Law: Never Again” for a historic burning in front of the Oblation at the University of the Philippines Diliman campus.

Speaking with The Adobo Chronicles, Robles said that with the return to Malacañang of Bongbong Marcos, the very thesis of her book is now all but an embarrassing failure. When she first released the book, she said she was hoping to bag a Pulitzer Prize.

The retail value of her book has almost dropped to zero since the election of Marcos, Jr.

The U.P. Student Regent’s Office is seriously considering Robles’ offer as part of the state institution’s celebration of the 51st anniversary of the Marcos Martial Law.

Rowena Burden Launches New Book On Gwen Garcia!

CEBU CITY, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Cebu Bureau) – Rowena Burden, the Cebu medical doctor who has launched a desperate campaign to attack and demand the resignation of Cebu Governor Gwen Garcia, has launched a new book titled “Hello GARCIa.”

Published by The Adobo Chronicles, the book chronicles the life and loves of the feisty governor and unveils never-before-known secrets about the mother of Tourism Secretary Christina Garcia Frasco.

Copies of the new book will be distributed for free to the first 100 news reporters who will attend Burden’s hastily-called press conference on September 30.

Political analyst Richard Heydarian believes Burden’s attacks on Garcia is a precursor to her running for Cebu governor in the next elections.
