G.I. Joe On Philippines-China Conflict

President Joe Biden recently declared that the U.S. defense commitment to the Philippines is “ironclad.” Now, the term “ironclad” usually conjures images of indestructible battleships, but in reality, it seems more like a flimsy paper umbrella in a monsoon.

Let’s face it, the idea of the U.S. going to war with China over an attack on a Philippine vessel in the South China Sea is about as plausible as a unicorn riding a unicycle. Are we to believe that the American military will encircle the Philippine archipelago, creating a literal wall of troops to shield it? Will they start sprinkling anti-missile equipment across the country like it’s confetti at a parade? Highly unlikely.

In truth, a U.S.-China war would be more about flexing American military muscle than actually safeguarding the Philippines. The only thing ironclad about this situation is that the Filipinos would bear the brunt of collateral damage. So, while President Biden’s commitment may be ironclad, it’s more like an ironclad ticket to a disaster movie starring the Philippines.

Guinness World Record For The Philippines: Longest Worker Paid Vacation!

MANILA, Philippines(The Adobo Chronicles, Manila Bureau) – Forget those long weekends when non-working holidays fall on a Friday or Monday. The world could learn a thing or two from the Philippines which actually holds a new Guinness World Record for the longest worker paid vacation.

It happens in 2023, in the year of our Lord: work holidays sandwiched between to weekends. But it comes with a little maneuvering and making sure one has enough paid vacation left.

So two days of paid leave of absence would ensure a full 9-day absence from work. And did we already say “paid?”

Only in the Philippines!

Philippines Shows The World How Not To Protect Civilian Lives!

The UN General Assembly votes for an “immediate humanitarian truce” in Gaza, as the Israel-Hamas conflict raged for a 21st da at the UN in New Yorl on October 27, 2023. The nonbinding resolution, criticized by Israel and the United States for failing to mention Hamas, received 120 votes in favor, 14 against and 45 abstentions. Thousands of civilians, both Palestinians and Israelis, have died since October 7, 2023, after Palestinian Hamas militants based in the Gaza Strip entered southern Israel in an unprecedented attack triggering a war declared by Israel on Hamas with retaliatory bombings on Gaza. Oh, the Philippines and their diplomatic prowess strike again!

In a move that can only be described as pure genius, the Philippines has managed to abstain from a UN resolution aimed at protecting civilians in a conflict zone. Because who needs to protect civilians, right? I mean, why bother when you can get caught up in technicalities and legal jargon instead?

It’s heartwarming to see a nation prioritizing politically-correct language over the actual lives and well-being of civilians. Who cares about those innocent people caught in the crossfire in Gaza when there are semantics to argue about? Perhaps the Philippines has uncovered the secret to world peace: let’s just abstain from everything, and all conflicts will magically disappear!

And let’s not forget the icing on the cake – that tweet from Ambassador Teddy Boy Locsin. Nothing says “diplomacy” quite like practically endorsing the killing of (Palestinian) children. It’s almost like they’re trying to win a medal in international relations for all the wrong reasons. Bravo, Philippines, bravo!
